Sir Brian May has expressed his fury at an AI-generated image that misrepresented Queen's album cover, calling it 'hideous' and warning against the construction of data centres in the UK. The 79-year-old rock legend shared his dismay on Instagram, posting a picture that was supposed to depict Queen bandmates Freddie Mercury, Roger Taylor, John Deacon and himself, but instead showed five unrecognisable men.

In his caption, Sir Brian revealed he had asked Meta AI to show him what the cover of 'The Game' album looked like. The result, he noted, was far from accurate. He wrote: "I just had to share this with you guys. I asked Meta AI to show me what the cover of THE GAME album looked like. This is what it gave me ! Good job, eh ? So this is the kind of intelligence that will soon be ruling the world ??! Well, great. Maybe this is the time to realise WE ACTUALLY DON'T NEED AI !!!"
Warning against data centres
Sir Brian, known for his work in academic astrophysics, is currently preparing for the Solar Eclipse this evening. However, his latest social media post took a serious turn as he addressed the broader implications of AI development. He continued: "But I'm now very serious. I believe the price we are about to pay for this 'inevitable' development is way too high. We must not allow these hideous Data Centres to be built in the UK. They will destroy our beautiful country, like they are already destroying beautiful America. Dear Andy --- you must stop it now. Before it's too late. Bri."
