Microsoft has announced that its Outlook Lite app for Android will be retired from October 6th, 2025. Users who continue to use the Lite version after that date will be blocked from checking emails or sending new messages.
The tech giant recommends that affected users switch to the Microsoft Outlook Mobile app. Unlike the Lite version, the full app offers improved mailbox features and is better equipped for future updates.
Microsoft has assured users that no accounts will be deleted or messages lost during the transition. To simplify the process, Lite users will receive a link within the app to download the standard version automatically.
In a statement, Microsoft said: "The Outlook Lite app will be retired starting October 6th, 2025. Existing users can continue using the app for a limited time before full retirement. To continue enjoying a secure and feature-rich email experience, we recommend switching to Outlook Mobile."
