Democrat Posts AI Video of Excrement on Speaker Johnson After Trump's Deepfake Smear

Democratic Representative Jared Moskowitz of Florida has posted an AI-generated video showing excrement being dropped on the head of House Speaker Mike Johnson, in a move he described as satire.

The video came hours after Johnson defended President Donald Trump's own AI-generated clip, which depicted the president dumping feces on protesters while wearing a crown. Trump's video appeared to target those opposing his use of executive authority.

When asked about the president's post, Johnson said Trump was 'the most effective person who's ever used social media' and was using satire to make a point. Moskowitz echoed that language, writing, 'Just using social media and satire Mr Speaker.'

Other Democrats criticised Johnson for his defence of Trump. Senator Patty Murray called Trump's video 'totally disgusting' and said it was 'genuinely pathetic' to see Johnson 'twisting themselves into pretzels' for the president. Representative Sean Casten said Johnson was 'too much of a coward to condemn pooping on people.'

This is not the first time Johnson has defended controversial online content from Trump. Earlier this month, he faced calls to condemn an AI deepfake of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries wearing a sombrero, which Johnson said was 'not my style' but declined to explicitly condemn.
