Thorpe Park has launched Summer Sounds, a new event combining DJ sets with late-night rides and attractions, offering thrill seekers a fresh heart-pounding experience this summer.
Festival vibes and DJ lineup
The park's Launch Pad 'recharge' zone has been transformed into a mini festival, complete with food vans, chill-out areas, and a stage. DJs including Kate Frost, Gav James, and Marky G are scheduled to perform this coming weekend, delivering music while visitors enjoy Glasto-style partying and extended evening hours.
During a preview last week, visitors sampled Churros from the food spots while taking in the festival atmosphere between rollercoaster rides. The event complements nearby Amity Beach, which has been busy all summer with families enjoying a seaside experience in Chertsey, Surrey.
Big 6 Coasters challenge
Theme park officials are encouraging visitors to make the most of late opening days and live entertainment by completing the Big 6 Coasters challenge, which involves riding attractions like Hyperia, the UK's tallest, fastest, and most weightless rollercoaster.
A spokeswoman said: "Standing at an eye-watering 236ft and reaching speeds of 81mph, Hyperia delivers unforgettable airtime moments and has fast become a must-ride for adrenaline lovers."
The challenge also includes the explosive launch of Stealth, rocketing riders from 0-80mph in under two seconds, soaring inches above the ground on The Swarm, braving the beyond-vertical drop of Saw – The Ride, spinning through volcanic forces on Nemesis Inferno, and taking on the ten iconic inversions of Colossus.
Family fun and autumn plans
Younger visitors and families can enjoy the family-friendly coaster Flying Fish, spin and swoop on Zodiac, or classic rides like Quantum, Rush, and Samurai. Water ride enthusiasts can cool off on attractions including Tidal Wave, Storm Surge, and Depth Charge.
The park is also planning an autumn season culminating in the 25th anniversary of Fright Nights around Halloween. The spokeswoman said: "This autumn, Thorpe Park’s legendary Halloween event returns for its 25th and biggest year yet. Fright Nights 2026 will deliver spine-tingling scare mazes, immersive scare zones, live entertainment and the chance to experience some of the UK’s most thrilling rides in the dark."
