Team context
Rangers were knocked out of Europa League qualifying by Jagiellonia Bialystok, 3-2 on aggregate, leaving the Conference League as their only European opportunity this season. Derek McInnes has had a mixed start to life in Glasgow, with a 5-1 thrashing of St. Mirren in the Scottish League Cup being his only win so far this season.
Jablonec arrive in Scotland in strong form, having won every European qualifying match so far, while also on a winning streak in the Czechoslovak first league, 1. Liga. Lubos Kozel's side beat Latvian outfit FC RFS 4-1 over two legs to set up the clash against Rangers.
Manager's comments
Derek McInnes gave his initial verdict on the signing of Kosta Nedeljković on loan from Aston Villa. He said: "You get real enthusiasm, athleticism to go up and down the pitch. He shows real quality and an eagerness to play the role. When it's somebody so young, there's obviously still going to be some areas to improve, but we're looking forward to try and get those improvements with him."
McInnes also commented on the threat Jablonec may pose. "They are clearly a well organised team, like most teams are. They've got a few good individuals who can make the game a bit more problematic for you, like most teams, but we feel we have got a good handle of what they are. They can change from shape to shape a lot of times, even within the same personnel, so we've got be ready for that."
