Liverpool confirm three staff departures as Iraola era begins

Liverpool have confirmed that three members of Arne Slot's backroom staff have left the club following the former head coach's departure. The Reds parted company with Slot last month and subsequently appointed Andoni Iraola as his replacement.

Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters and Giovanni van Bronckhorst all worked under Slot as part of Liverpool's coaching team and have now all departed the club.

Hulshoff and Peeters were integral to the Liverpool staff that guided the club to the Premier League title in the 2024/25 season, while Van Bronckhorst joined last summer after John Heitinga's exit.

“Liverpool FC can confirm the departures of Sipke Hulshoff, Ruben Peeters and Giovanni van Bronckhorst from the coaching staff,” a club statement read.

“Hulshoff, as first assistant coach, and lead physical performance coach Peeters joined the Reds as part of Arne Slot's new backroom team following his arrival as head coach in the summer of 2024.

“Both contributed to a memorable first campaign that included immediate Premier League title success in 2024-25, with the club's 20th top-flight championship clinched at Anfield with four games to spare.

“Former Netherlands international Van Bronckhorst, meanwhile, arrived at Liverpool last summer to take up a role as an assistant coach within Slot's set-up.

“The three will now leave their posts following the announcement of Slot's departure as head coach last month.

“Everybody at LFC thanks Sipke, Ruben and Gio for all their efforts and contributions to the club and wishes them the best for the future.”
