Bonfire Night 2026 firework displays and events in Cardiff

Bonfire Night 2026 falls on Thursday, November 5, and firework displays are planned across Cardiff and the surrounding area, with several events also scheduled before and after the date itself.

While half term and Halloween are still to come, organisers are urging people to plan their Guy Fawkes night early. The displays listed below include large-scale events and locally arranged ones in Cardiff and nearby areas.

Ponty Big Bang 2026

The major firework display in Pontypridd's Ynysangharad Park will have a spooky flavour this year as the bonfire event takes place on Halloween. Gates open at 4.30pm and close at 7pm, with fireworks starting at 7.30pm. Food stalls and more will be available.

When: Saturday, October 31, from 4.30pm. Tickets: from £9 for adults, £5 for kids aged 3-13. Tickets will be available on the door, but they are slightly more expensive.

Cardiff Bay and Sophia Gardens events

Lo Lounge, Cardiff Bay, will host seven nights of fireworks to celebrate Guy Fawkes night on the waterfront. The waterside bar will have streetfood, cocktails, DJs, boardgames and more, from November 1-7, from 5.30pm. Tickets from £10.

Sophiaworks, Sophia Gardens, will hold its sell-out Bonfire Night event on November 5. Gates open at 5pm, with live music, family entertainment and street food traders on the Pavilion Lawn before fireworks are scheduled to begin at 7pm. Tickets from £10.

Local displays in Cardiff and Barry

Fairwater Cons, Cardiff, will host a bonfire, fireworks and treats, with gates open from 5pm and the fireworks display at 6.30pm on November 5. Tickets on the door, from £5 for under 16s, £20 for family ticket.

Barry RFC will hold its fireworks display at the Reservoir Fields on November 5, with gates from 5pm, hot food, refreshments, music and entertainment. Kids £3, adults £5, bookable in advance.

Vale of Glamorgan Hotel display

The Hensol hotel is bringing back its annual display on Saturday, November 7, starting at 5pm, with fireworks at 6.30pm. VIP tickets allow viewing from indoors. Refreshments are available, and paid-for tickets include a hot dog or burger and a soft drink. Adults from £22.50, kids 3+ from £10.
