Nunez's Al Hilal exit stalled by unresolved issues

Darwin Nunez's potential move to Trabzonspor is being held up by unresolved issues with his current club Al Hilal, according to reports. The former Liverpool striker has been linked with a reunion with Mohamed Salah at the Turkish Super Lig club.

Transfer Talks Stalled

Nunez left Liverpool last summer in a permanent transfer to Al Hilal worth £46million, but his time in the Saudi Pro League has been marked by uncertainty. Reports earlier this month suggested an agreement had been reached between Trabzonspor and Nunez, with the Turkish club set to hold talks with Al Hilal to finalise the deal.

Journalist Yunus Emre Sel has reported that Nunez has yet to resolve the issues he has with Al Hilal, which is preventing the transfer from being completed. It remains unclear whether the move would be a season-long loan or a permanent deal.

Nunez's Desire to Join Trabzonspor

Sel also claimed that Nunez has expressed a desire to join Trabzonspor, but the unresolved issues need to be sorted before a transfer can take place. The 27-year-old featured at the World Cup for Uruguay but did not score in any of his three appearances, as his country was eliminated at the group stage.

During his debut season at Al Hilal, Nunez made 24 appearances and scored nine goals, and he now looks increasingly likely to leave for a new club. At Liverpool, he made 143 appearances and scored 40 goals, helping the Reds win the Premier League title in his final season.
