All four of Newcastle United's October fixtures have been moved for live TV coverage, with the Magpies' fans forced to travel for a late Monday night kick-off. The latest changes in Premier League fixtures were confirmed today, with four games moving for broadcast, plus opponents playing in European competition.
Longer wait after international break
United will have an even longer wait to return to action after the three-week international break, with the fixture against Coventry City now scheduled for Monday, October 12, kicking off at 8pm. That will mean a long journey home from the Midlands for Newcastle fans on a Monday evening after the clash with Frank Lampard's side.
Other October changes
The home game against Aston Villa on Saturday, October 17 will now kick off at 5.30pm, while the game at Crystal Palace the following weekend has also been moved. That game at Selhurst Park will get under way at 2pm on Sunday, October 25, due to Palace's participation in the Europa League.
Everton match moved to Monday
Finally, the St James' Park game against Everton has been moved to Monday, November 2, with that match kicking off at 8pm. All of those games will be shown live on Sky Sports.
That means only one of United's first nine Premier League games will not be shown live on TV, with the game against Hull City on September 19 kicking off at 3pm on Saturday, September 19.
Newcastle kick off the season in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Sunday (4.30pm) and their game at Tottenham on Saturday, August 29 will be shown at 5.30pm. The game against AFC Bournemouth will be shown on TNT Sports at 12.30pm on September 5, while the trip to Elland Road to face Leeds United will kick off at 8pm on Monday, September 14.
