Marcus Rashford has reportedly turned down a move to Turkiye this summer following conversations with Ilkay Gundogan's uncle, Ilhan. According to reports from Haber Siri Kirmizi, the Manchester United forward informed Galatasaray he does not want to move to the Turkish Super Lig this summer.
Rashford's Future After Barcelona Loan
Rashford's future at Old Trafford has been a bone of contention after Barcelona chose not to take up the option to buy the forward after a loan spell at the Nou Camp last season. The 28-year-old returned to Old Trafford earlier this month after representing England in the World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
Rashford has been linked with several other clubs after his move to the La Liga champions fell through, but has been reintegrated into Michael Carrick's first team plans ahead of the new campaign. Reports earlier this summer claim United were wary of selling the England international to a fellow Premier League club, in order to avoid an embarrassing situation, should he impress elsewhere.
Return to Action
He has spent the last two seasons on loan at Aston Villa and then Barcelona, making his first appearance in a United shirt since December 2024, during the recent pre-season clash with AC Milan. Rashford came off the bench for the final half hour of the friendly in Poland, with the Serie A side running out 4-2 winners.
Speaking after Rashford returned to Manchester United training, Carrick hinted that his future lies at Old Trafford this season. Carrick told ITV Sport: "He's our player and he's come back great. He's just like any other player. I've known Marcus a long time and he gives us something a little bit different. And he's been in great spirits since he's been back. He's been back two or three days training and it's just pretty normal, to be honest. And we're looking forward to the start of the season."
