Man Utd to reject Galatasaray approach for Fernandes

Manchester United are set to promptly reject Galatasaray's approach for captain Bruno Fernandes, with the Turkish side preparing a substantial financial package for the midfielder.

Contract details and release clause

Fernandes, 31, is entering the final 12 months of the three-year deal he signed in 2024, though United retain an option to extend it by a further season. The club are planning with their captain in mind, but his contract includes a £56million release clause that can be triggered by clubs outside England.

Previous interest and Galatasaray's spending

It's not the first time the 31-year-old has been linked with a departure from Old Trafford and the club have had to fight to keep hold of their captain in the past. Back in May, The Mirror reported Fernandes as a dream target for Galatasaray.

The Istanbul club haven't been afraid to splash the cash in recent windows, adding the likes of Victor Osimhen and Leroy Sane.

No new contract planned yet

There are currently no plans to offer Fernandes a new contract ahead of the coming season, though that stance could shift once the campaign is underway.
