Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye have reportedly been left out of the Paris Saint-Germain squad once again as Liverpool continue to push for a high-profile double transfer.
The Reds have been attempting to sign both PSG wingers over recent weeks, seeing France star Barcola as their heir apparent to club icon Mohamed Salah, who left Anfield earlier this summer and subsequently joined Turkish side Trabzonspor.
PSG duo left out again
However, so far Liverpool have been unable to reach an agreement over either Barcola or Mbaye, with the two clubs seemingly remaining far apart in their respective valuations of the duo.
PSG boss Luis Enrique decided to omit the pair from his squad for last weekend’s shock 1-0 defeat by Lens in the French Super Cup amid that ongoing transfer speculation, an approach he was expected to maintain during the remainder of the window.
That is indeed the case according to RMC Sport, who reported that neither Barcola nor Mbaye would be involved on Sunday evening as PSG begin their latest Ligue 1 title defence away at Rennes, despite training as normal on Saturday morning.
They added that both Barcola and Mbaye are expected to leave the Parc des Princes before the transfer deadline.
Minteh talks continue
However, they are far from Liverpool’s only targets heading into a hectic final week of the window, with the club potentially plotting a third offer as talks continue over Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh.
Liverpool are understood to have seen opening bids worth £50million and £60m respectively rejected in recent days for the Gambia international, said to be valued at close to £70m, who, like Mbaye and Barcola, is rumoured to have an agreement over personal terms.
talkSPORT have claimed that Brighton are eyeing Hull target Yeremay Hernandez at Deportivo La Coruna as a potential replacement for Minteh, who underwent leg surgery over the summer and may not be fit to play until November.
Endrick enquiry and other business
Meanwhile, The Times reported on Friday that Liverpool had also lodged a shock enquiry with Real Madrid over the potential availability of Brazilian forward Endrick.
The 20-year-old saw his progress stall at the Bernabeu before scoring eight goals and delivering as many assists in 21 appearances during a productive loan spell at Lyon in the second half of last season.
Liverpool have made only one new attacking signing so far this summer despite Salah’s exit, triggering the £34.5m release clause in Spain winger Victor Munoz’s contract at Osasuna.
They have strengthened their defensive unit with the £60m addition of Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes that was first agreed in January, plus signing Ronald Araujo on a season-long loan from Barcelona that includes the option for a £47m permanent transfer next summer.
