Endrick snubs Liverpool; Iraola vows more signings

Liverpool will begin their Premier League campaign with an away match against Newcastle on Sunday, aiming to put last season's struggles behind them. Andoni Iraola has taken charge at Anfield this summer, with high expectations placed on the new manager.

Arne Slot led the club to Champions League qualification in his second season, but the campaign was judged largely disappointing as the Reds seek a higher league finish. To achieve that, Iraola needs additional players, and Liverpool's transfer business is far from complete ahead of the deadline.

Iraola promises new arrivals

Iraola admitted on Friday that his current squad options appear "thin" and assured there will "definitely" be more new arrivals, according to the Liverpool Echo. He told Sky Sports: "We will definitely sign some players. Some deals you have to wait until the end. But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1, because it is true that we are still quite thin."

Endrick rejects Anfield move

Real Madrid striker Endrick has reportedly turned down approaches from Liverpool to fight for his place under Jose Mourinho. The Brazilian is expected to face difficulties securing game time after returning to Madrid following a successful loan spell at Lyon.

Endrick, 20, scored eight goals and provided eight assists in 21 appearances in France last season. He had hoped to return to Spain with fresh chances to impress for Los Blancos, but his opportunities have been reduced by the arrival of Yan Diomande.

Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe are established starters at Real Madrid, occupying two of the three main attacking slots. That leaves the £100million signing Diomande as the most likely contender for the remaining spot on the right wing.
