Arthur Fery is back in Wimbledon action on Friday as he continues his fairytale run. The British wildcard has reached the semi-finals at the All England Club, becoming only the second wildcard ever to get to the last four. He follows Goran Ivanisevic’s 2001 triumph, where the Croat went all the way to win the title.
Fery’s Path to the Semi-Finals
Fery, ranked world No. 114, defeated ninth seed Flavio Cobolli in straight sets in the quarter-finals. This marks his second straight-sets victory over the Italian this year, having also eliminated him in the first round of the Australian Open. The Briton is hoping to become the first UK finalist since Sir Andy Murray’s second Wimbledon triumph in 2016.
Zverev’s Form and Opponent
Alexander Zverev, the newly-crowned French Open champion and second seed, swept past sixth seed Taylor Fritz in his quarter-final, with the American struggling with a knee problem. Zverev will be a formidable opponent on Centre Court.
