Amad is absent from Manchester United's squad to face Hull due to a small injury. The forward picked up a minor issue at the end of last week, and United hope that he is not facing a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
Expected starter ruled out
The 24-year-old was expected to start United's opening game of the Premier League season, but he is missing from the squad, which has seen Michael Carrick pick an attack of Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Patrick Dorgu.
Amad was in good form for the Ivory Coast at the World Cup. He returned to Carrington at the end of July before featuring in pre-season.
Attack and debutants
It's unclear whether Mbeumo or Cunha will start down the middle against Hull. United's attack was interchangeable under Carrick last season, so the approach may be fluid again at the MKM Stadium.
Carrick has handed competitive debuts to Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans against Hull. Santos was signed in a £50million deal from Chelsea earlier in the window, and Tielemans came through the door next for £35m.
Midfield signing agreed
United have struck an agreement to make Carlos Baleba their third midfield signing of the summer. The Reds' opening offer of £60million, with £5m in add-ons, was knocked back earlier this week, but an improved bid has now been accepted for the Cameroon international.
