Nottinghamshire completed a dominant 10-wicket win over Surrey in the County Championship on day three at Trent Bridge. Chasing a target of 54, the home side reached 54 without loss, with Ben Slater scoring 30 not out and Haseeb Hameed 24 not out.

Surrey collapse after strong start

Surrey, resuming on 72 for 2 in their second innings, were bowled out for 243. Ryan Patel top-scored with 82, while Ollie Pope made 51. For Nottinghamshire, Brett Hutton took 4 for 41 and Lyndon James 3 for 53.

Earlier, Nottinghamshire had declared their first innings on 541 for 9, a lead of 191. Joe Clarke scored 150 and Matthew Montgomery 108.

Warwickshire beat Sussex by an innings

Warwickshire defeated Sussex by an innings and 14 runs at Edgbaston. Sussex were bowled out for 189 in their second innings, with Tom Haines making 58. Warwickshire's Chris Rushworth took 5 for 47, match figures of 10 for 96.

Warwickshire had earlier declared on 472 for 7, with Sam Hain scoring 152 not out.

Somerset beat Essex by 10 wickets

Somerset beat Essex by 10 wickets at Taunton. Chasing 22 for victory, Somerset reached 22 without loss. Essex were bowled out for 167 in their second innings, with Tom Westley top-scoring with 45. Somerset's Craig Overton took 4 for 40.

Essex had earlier been bowled out for 157 in their first innings, with Somerset replying with 302.
