Hamilton Breaks Silence on Shock Ferrari Move

Lewis Hamilton has issued a detailed statement explaining his decision to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025. The seven-time world champion, who has won six of his titles with Mercedes, described the move as the hardest decision he has ever had to make.

In a post on social media platform X, Hamilton said: 'It's been a crazy few days... the time has come for me to start a new chapter in my life and I will be joining Scuderia Ferrari in 2025.' He added that driving in Ferrari red fulfils a childhood dream.

The 39-year-old acknowledged his deep gratitude to Mercedes, where he has been since 2013, and to team principal Toto Wolff. He also paid tribute to the late Niki Lauda, calling him a huge supporter.

Hamilton insisted his focus remains on the upcoming 2024 season with Mercedes, saying: 'I am 100 per cent committed to the job I need to do and determined to end my partnership with the team on a high.'
