Carlos Alcaraz will make his return to competitive tennis at the US Open, defending his crown after a wrist injury kept him out since April.
Injury and missed Grand Slams
The former world number one has not played since injuring his wrist at the Barcelona Open in April. The injury forced him to miss the French Open and Wimbledon.
Return confirmed by Romano
On Thursday, August 20, football transfer influencer Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the 23-year-old Spaniard will return for the tournament. The singles competition at Flushing Meadows begins on August 30.
Alcaraz won the US Open in 2025, beating Jannik Sinner in the final.
