Former Canada midfielder Kaylyn Kyle, 37, has been confirmed as the new host of beIN Sports' Premier League coverage, replacing Richard Keys. According to The Athletic, Kyle will make her first appearance for Nottingham Forest's trip to Liverpool on Saturday.
Olympic medallist takes over hosting duties
Kyle won a bronze medal with Canada at the London 2012 Olympics. She made 101 caps for her country during a playing career that included spells with Vancouver Whitecaps, Seattle Reign, Boston Breakers, Houston Dash, Portland Thorns and Orlando Pride.
After retiring in 2017, Kyle moved into broadcasting and worked for beIN Sports during their coverage of the 2022 World Cup.
Departure from Apple TV and Soccer Aid debut
Earlier this month, Kyle announced her departure from Apple TV's coverage of Major League Soccer in an emotional statement on Instagram. She said: "Four years ago, I started a new chapter with Major League Soccer and Apple TV, never knowing just how deeply it would shape me, challenge me, and quietly change my life in all the best ways."
She added: "I'm incredibly proud of what we created, the memories we made, and the opportunities this job gave me. But the hardest part of leaving isn't the job - it's the people."
Over the summer, Kyle made her Soccer Aid debut, representing Rest of the World in their losing effort to England.
Keys and Gray launch podcast
Keys, 69, left beIN Sports at the end of last season alongside long-term colleague Andy Gray. The pair left Sky Sports in 2011 after being taken off air for making sexist comments about female football officials and executives. Keys and Gray have launched their own podcast for the new season.
