Former Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack is training at Auchenhowie as he looks to secure a new club. The 34-year-old is a free agent after a spell with Turkish side Esenler Erokspor and has been using Rangers' training facilities to maintain his fitness.
Keeping fit at his old club
Jack, who was part of Steven Gerrard's title-winning 2020/21 squad, has been welcomed back to the Rangers training centre to work with the physio and performance staff. Despite a career plagued by injuries, he is now back fighting fit and combining gym work with his rehabilitation.
The former Aberdeen captain has been linked with Dundee previously and is now on the lookout for his next challenge. Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show, he said: "It is pretty much out of the way [Injury]. It is just this time of season when you are out of contract you just want to keep fit."
Praise for Derek McInnes
Jack, who played under Derek McInnes at Pittodrie, was delighted to see his former manager turn things around at Rangers with back-to-back wins over Celtic. He added: "The two results for Derek McInnes and Rangers are massive and have given everyone a huge boost at the club."
He noted how quickly the narrative has shifted in Glasgow, saying: "Considering the start of the season, getting knocked out of Europe and not really starting too well domestically. Rangers will feel great about themselves going into the break I am sure and look forward to kicking on after the international break."
Jack also observed the pressure now switching to Celtic, stating: "You see all the pressure just flips onto Celtic and Martin O'Neill."
