North Macedonia vs Scotland LIVE: Pocognoli eyes first win

Scotland face North Macedonia in Skopje as Sebastien Pocognoli seeks his first win as national team boss. The match takes place at the National Arena Tose Proeski, where the Belgian manager will also see skipper Andy Robertson earn his 100th cap if he plays.

Pocognoli's difficult start

It hasn't been the start that Pocognoli would have wanted as Scotland boss. The Belgian kicked off his reign by claiming a point away to Slovenia on Saturday on matchday one of the Nations League.

Despite some bright moments during the group opener, Switzerland dished out a major lesson at Hampden earlier this week. They dominated at the national stadium after Jack Hendry's early red card, with the side ranked 14th in the FIFA World Rankings cruising to a 3-0 win.

Pressure on both sides

Now Pocognoli has plenty to ponder as he prepares for this one, with a number of players still waiting for their chance under the new boss. North Macedonia are also searching for their first win after conceding five goals in their opening two fixtures.

Their boss Goce Sedloski is facing major scrutiny - and he may need a win to keep his job after a lacklustre run of results. However, for Scotland - history beckons. Not only with the boss eyeing his first win, but with Robertson also set to land his 100th cap.

Team news and officials

Frenchman François Letexier will referee the match, assisted by countrymen Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, with Guillaume Paradis the fourth official. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the game will be Bram Van Driessche from Belgium, assisted by Mathieu Vernice from France.

The Scotland squad includes goalkeepers Scott Bain, Angus Gunn and Liam Kelly; defenders Luis Binks, Josh Doig, Luke Graham, Jack Hendry, Aaron Hickey, Scott McKenna, Nathan Patterson, Andy Robertson and Stephen Welsh; midfielders Ryan Christie, Lewis Ferguson, Billy Gilmour, John McGinn, Josh McPake, Lennon Miller and Kristi Montgomery; and forwards Kieron Bowie, Ben Gannon-Doak, Oli McBurnie and Robbie Ure.

Should Robertson make an appearance tonight, the skipper will earn his 100th cap for his country. It is a big night for the new boss as he eyes a first win at the third time of asking.
