Manchester City prospect Teddie Lamb is expected to feature for the club's EDS side on a regular basis this season having scored twice on his debut outing at that level.
Lamb has been a prolific scorer for the Blues Under-18 side and began the campaign in Lauris Coggin's set-up. He started the campaign with four goals in as many games and that earned him a call into Oli Reiss' Under-21 team for the game with Tottenham last weekend. Lamb made the step up with ease, scoring twice and only being denied a hat-trick by a goal-line clearance. City were beaten 4-2 by Spurs but the contest only further emphasised how much potential Lamb has.
Lamb's prolific scoring record
The frontman joined City from Leyton Orient in 2025 and only turned 17 over the summer but continues to impress with his goalscoring ability. He scored a sensational 28 goals in 29 games last term and finished as the Under-18 Premier League top scorer as City retained the title while they also won the FA Youth Cup.
Parker's first-team ambition
Xavier Parker is another of City's most talked about academy stars. The 16-year-old forward has also made the step up to Reiss' side this season and, after a summer where there was speculation that he could leave City with a clutch of leading clubs interested, the focus is now firmly on football for the teenager. The ambition is a first team debut before the campaign is out, with Parker keen to catch the eye in the Under-21s having been part of Enzo Maresca's first team squad that travelled out to Asia for the pre-season tour.
“Watching the first team's attention to every detail (was amazing). Everything's a lot more focused and precise and everything's checked and looked after.
“I'd probably say I learnt a lot from Enzo and his coaching staff. There were many times when me and a couple of other boys would be doing shooting and stuff on our own - just like getting the reps in. And they were all trying to help us with the right technique and stuff and you could see the quality.
“That whole experience made me really hungry for more. It's kind of pushed me to know that I can do my thing in the Under-21s this season. The aim really is that I kick on and can become an established EDS player.
“I'll try to score frequently and then hopefully later in the season make my (first team) debut.”
Scoring spree for England
Speaking of Parker, the teenage talent was on target for England in a 5-1 victory over Ireland last week. The City prospect wasn't the only talented Blue finding the net as Darren Motsi won and scored a penalty moments after coming off the bench. Motsi was introduced in the final 15 minutes and made an immediate impact by drawing a foul before tucking away England's fourth from the spot.
The 16-year-old only arrived at the Etihad this summer having joined from Leicester City, where he impressed in Premier League 2 and attracted the attention of leading clubs with City beating Liverpool to his signature.
