Anthony Joshua has claimed even Tyson Fury's own family want him to lose the biggest fight of his career.
Joshua, 36, and Fury, 38, faced off for the first time ahead of their £150million heavyweight showdown in Cardiff on December 11. Joshua revealed he has been taking advice from Fury's uncle Peter, who led his nephew to his first world title.
Family split after Klitschko win
The pair split after Fury defeated Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Joshua said: "I speak to Peter. He's willing to help me as well.
"He has given me ideas about our training and about how I can approach the fight. Everybody wants me to win and everybody's going to tell me how to win."
Davison back in Joshua's corner
Joshua has also reunited with trainer Ben Davison, who was instrumental in guiding Fury out of his drink-and-drug fuelled depression and back to the ring.
Davison helped Fury to a draw with Deontay Wilder in 2018 and oversaw wins over Otto Wallin and Tom Schwarz, but was then dumped before his charge became world champion again by stopping Wilder in 2020.
Joshua worked with Davison for his wins over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou before he was knocked out by Daniel Dubois two years ago, leading to the pair splitting. But Davison is now back in Joshua's corner.
Confidence from both camps
Joshua said: "I'm at a stage in my life now where everybody better shut up and listen to me when it comes to boxing because I've learned more than most people and most coaches now.
"When I sat back and I observed this, I realised Ben Davison will be a big addition to this fight with what he can add to helping me beat Tyson Fury. He's very good at pinpointing certain things leading up to a fight that I can execute and exploit. I believe Ben Davison will get me that one step closer to landing the perfect punch to pin Fury to the ground."
Fury, who is now trained by SugarHill Steward, said: "I left Ben Davison to go with Sugar Hill because he wasn't good enough and this is the same Ben Davison who Anthony Joshua left because he wasn't good enough. That gives me encouragement and that gives me happiness. He'll probably go out there, get told to throw a jab and throw an uppercut and get himself chinned."
