Craig Bellamy has admitted the 2-0 defeat to Denmark has left him "hurting", but insists Wales will find a way to improve.
Sunday's loss in Copenhagen leaves Wales bottom of their Nations League group without a point or a single goal. They are yet to win in 2026, with the defeat extending their winless run to six games.
Bellamy made six changes to the side that produced what many believed to be an encouraging performance against Portugal last time out. This time, they failed to really land a glove on the Danes, who secured a deserved victory courtesy of a Ben Davies own goal and a Gustav Isaksen strike.
Bellamy's defiant message
Despite the disappointment, Bellamy is confident Wales will continue to improve. "I'm really hurting," he said afterwards. "When you see an athletic team run over you a little bit... but then, will we improve? I think we will."
"This team will get better, these players will keep improving. There are young ones coming in well after I'm gone. For me now it's just focus, two more games to go. How can I help you improve for the next two games but also how can I improve?"
"I'm probably more loving when I'm losing, I'm probably more of a pain in the backside when I'm winning."
No complaints with the result
Bellamy admitted his side can have few complaints with the result, adding Denmark were worthy winners on the day. "I said to the players before the game, 'this is going to be tougher than Portugal'," Bellamy added.
"It was a different challenge but a very difficult one. The best team won overall. As disappointed as I am with that, the result I probably think was fair."
