Guardiola Doubts Return to Management After Man City

Pep Guardiola has raised doubts over whether he will return to management after Manchester City. The Catalan is taking a break from football after ten years at the Etihad and said after leaving that it was time to focus on his personal life.

Guardiola's Uncertain Future

Guardiola will not be short of offers to tempt him back into the game, and the Italy national team were hopeful of snapping him up this summer. However, the 55-year-old turned that opportunity down and gave an interview for a new Amazon documentary being released this week that indicated it may be some time before he is back in a dugout.

"I don’t even know myself what I’m going to do, honestly. I don’t know," he said, speaking weeks after leaving the club. "But for sure, I will not be…it will be difficult to come back. My feeling today is it will be difficult to come back."

Focus on Personal Life

"I need to refresh many things in my personal life. And professional, what I’ve found, I need to find myself a little bit in different thing. Sitting and seeing time go by or the time crosses in front of you. There is a word in Catalonia: badar - it is like this [zoned out]. So do that. That is one of my main targets I want to do."

City's New Era

City have moved on with the appointment of Enzo Maresca, one of Guardiola's assistants during the Treble season who has since gone on to have success with Leicester and Chelsea. The pair met up in Barcelona this summer as Guardiola gave his friend a rundown of every member of the City squad to give the Italian the best possible chance of continuing success for City.
