Wolves began their Championship campaign with a 2-0 win against Blackburn Rovers at Molineux on Saturday. Goals from Matheus Cunha and Pedro Neto secured the three points for the home side.
First-Half Dominance
Cunha opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, slotting home after a neat pass from João Gomes. Wolves controlled possession for much of the first half, with Neto doubling the lead just before half-time, finishing a counter-attack set up by Rayan Aït-Nouri.
Second-Half Control
Blackburn improved after the break but failed to create clear-cut chances. Wolves goalkeeper José Sá was rarely tested, making a comfortable save from Tyrhys Dolan's long-range effort.
