Who Should Replace Livramento for England at World Cup?

England's World Cup preparations have been dealt a blow after Tino Livramento was ruled out of the tournament due to injury, just before the Three Lions' opening match. The positive aspect for manager Thomas Tuchel is that the squad adjustment window remains open, allowing an emergency call-up. Livramento was not expected to start, with Nico O'Reilly and Reece James securing the defensive flanks, but his versatility was a key asset. Tuchel now must reshuffle his plans.

Potential Replacement: Trevoh Chalobah

Early indications suggest that Trevoh Chalobah will be selected as Livramento's replacement. Chalobah previously worked under Tuchel at Chelsea, featuring 47 times last season and winning the Club World Cup in the United States. However, the decision has raised eyebrows, with many questioning if Chalobah is the best option. Trent Alexander-Arnold, who was not originally selected, seems the more obvious choice.

Tuchel appears to be taking a different path. Do you think it is the right one? Vote in our poll and tell us who should replace Livramento.

Bukayo Saka Fitness Concern

Livramento is not the only fitness worry for England. Bukayo Saka arrived at camp with a niggle and may miss the opener against Croatia. Saka stated: "I don't want to say anything against the manager. But between Mikel Arteta, Arsenal's medical team, and England's medical team, since March they have managed me amazingly. I am feeling better than I have for months. I am ready to go."

Saka added: "As players, it's the biggest gamble, especially if you're not feeling sharp. You have the choice not to play or put yourself out there knowing people will judge you. At the end of the day, people expect you to deliver. I'm happy to take the gamble. It paid off, and I'm feeling a lot better now."
