Viktor Hovland appeared to introduce a new girlfriend at the Masters Par 3 Contest on Wednesday, sharing a kiss with a mystery blonde in front of the galleries at Augusta National. The Ryder Cup star played alongside fellow Europeans Matt Fitzpatrick and Ludvig Aberg, both of whom were accompanied by their partners.
Hovland, who has typically kept his private life private, was seen with the unidentified woman, and they were spotted kissing. The Norwegian golfer was the only single member of Europe's winning 2023 Ryder Cup team, a fact that has been the subject of jokes.
During the contest, Hovland was three under par before disqualifying himself, a common practice as players often let their loved ones take shots. His partner impressed by nearly holing a long putt on the final green. England's Aaron Rai won the event with a six-under-par 21.
Hovland, a former FedEx Cup champion, has had a solid start to the PGA Tour season with one top-10 finish in six starts. He said on Wednesday: 'We're trending, and that's kind of the most important thing for me. It's been a lot of one step forward, two steps back... But I do feel confident that we're working on the right stuff.'
He begins his Masters campaign on Thursday at 10:43 a.m. ET, playing alongside Patrick Cantlay and Alex Noren.
