Spurs improved after the break and drew level through Archie Gray, who volleyed home after Xavi Simons' corner was headed back across goal. However, Newcastle responded emphatically, and Ramsey claimed his first goal for the club with a composed finish, securing a deserved victory. Eddie Howe described it as one of his team's best performances of the season.
Frank's problems are compounded by an extensive injury list, which numbered 10 players before the match and grew when Wilson Odobert was forced off in the 34th minute. He was also without the suspended Cristian Romero. The defeat leaves Tottenham in a precarious position, with the north London derby against Arsenal looming on 16 March.
