Arsenal midfielder Eberechi Eze found himself in an awkward moment with Sky Sports presenter Patrick Davison following Arsenal's 4-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. The win marked Arsenal's biggest at Tottenham since 1978, moving them five points clear of Manchester City.
Eze scored twice, with Viktor Gyokeres also netting a brace. After the match, Davison suggested Eze's finishes were 'simple,' prompting a surprised response from the England international. 'They're not simple!' Eze retorted. 'But I'm always trying to get in those positions to find the space, to work hard and get those opportunities.'
Eze, who was linked with a move to Tottenham in the summer before joining Arsenal, has now scored five goals against Spurs this season, including a hat-trick in the earlier 4-1 win at the Emirates. When asked about the taunts from Spurs fans, he said: 'Quite a lot! That's football, it's understandable.'
The 26-year-old also praised Gyokeres for his performance, saying: 'Vik was doing it all game. He helps the team not just with his goals but the effort he puts in. It gets players like me in the best positions.'
