Jannik Sinner produced a commanding performance to defeat Jenson Brooksby 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 and advance to the fourth round of Wimbledon. The Italian, seeded eighth, demonstrated significant improvements in his net game, winning 18 of 22 points at the net and converting five of nine break point opportunities.

Sinner, who has been working on his all-court game, broke Brooksby's serve early in the first set and maintained his advantage throughout. The 20-year-old Italian hit 32 winners to Brooksby's 18 and committed only 12 unforced errors compared to the American's 25.
Brooksby, ranked 43rd, struggled to find his rhythm against Sinner's aggressive baseline play and effective net approaches. The American saved two match points before Sinner closed out the match with a forehand winner.
Improved Net Play Key to Victory
Sinner's net success rate of 81.8% was a career best at Wimbledon. "I have been working a lot on my net game," Sinner said. "It's important on grass to come forward and finish points. I'm happy with how I played today."
The Italian's previous best at Wimbledon was a third-round exit in 2023. He has now reached the fourth round for the first time.
Next Opponent
Sinner will face either Alexander Zverev or Frances Tiafoe in the next round. He holds a 2-1 head-to-head record against Zverev and has never played Tiafoe.
Brooksby, who reached the fourth round at the US Open last year, was appearing in his first Wimbledon main draw. He had wins over Pablo Carreno Busta and Nikoloz Basilashvili before falling to Sinner.
