Cristiano Ronaldo has purchased a 25% stake in Spanish second-division club UD Almeria, according to Brunswick Group, the consulting firm representing the Portuguese footballer. The investment was made through his CR7 Sports Investments subsidiary.
Almeria, which has been under Saudi Arabian ownership for over six years, is currently third in Spain's Segunda División. Mohamed Al-Khereiji, who took over as owner and president in summer 2025, welcomed Ronaldo's involvement, highlighting his knowledge of Spanish leagues and the club's potential.
Ronaldo, 41, who plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr, stated: 'It has been a long-time ambition of mine to contribute to football, beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth.'
Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. Almeria last played in La Liga during the 2023-24 season. Ronaldo has scored 22 goals in 25 appearances this season for Al-Nassr, having recently ended a strike over the club's January transfer activity.
