Rangers legend Barry Ferguson has claimed that Nicolas Raskin is worth more than Celtic's Arne Engels, insisting the Ibrox club would need a record sale to let the midfielder go.
Ferguson's valuation of Raskin
Speaking on GO Radio, Ferguson said Rangers should demand between £15-20 million for the Belgium international, who impressed at the World Cup. He argued that Raskin is a better player than Engels, who is attracting interest from West Ham United with a price tag exceeding £25 million.
"He's worth at least that (£20million). If Arne Engels is going for more than £25million, come on. Nico is better than Arne Engels," Ferguson stated.
Transfer interest and contract status
Raskin, 25, is a target for La Liga clubs Villarreal and Real Betis. He appeared as a second-half substitute in Rangers' 2-1 Europa League qualifying loss to Jagiellonia Bialystok. His contract runs until summer 2028.
Ferguson added: "I think Rangers have got a price in their head and if that is met (he'll go). It will be interesting to see if it actually does happen."
