Rangers boss Derek McInnes has asked the Ibrox board to step up their search for a winger, with Coventry City now seemingly willing to let Jahnoah Markelo leave.
The manager made the case for quick additions after the opening day draw with Dundee United, pointing to the need for reinforcements in wide areas. Rangers held an interest in Markelo before his €5m move from FC Zurich to Coventry in January, but he has featured only five times since and could move on following the club's return to the Premier League.

According to the Coventry Telegraph, Frank Lampard's side are "open" to sending the 23-year-old out on loan to a "decent level" so he can continue his development away from the English top flight.
Cozier-Duberry talks underway
Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry also remains on Rangers' radar. Official discussions have begun over a deal for the 21-year-old, after Brighton turned down a £5m bid from Anderlecht. Despite his contract expiring next summer, the Seagulls are in no rush to sell.
Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler told The Argus: "I think there were some players who really impressed me in pre-season so far. So just talking about [Ibrahim] Osman, about Amario, they had a very impactful pre-season so far. They are not only good players, they also integrate really well into the group. They do their job, they listen, they try to develop, they want to improve. That's very impressive and let's see. We need maybe a bigger squad than we had before because we might play more games. We have to figure out how the start of the season will go and what is important for us as a club, but also what is important for the individual development of the player."
Ghedjemis and Cerny options
Frosinone's Fares Ghedjemis is reportedly a top target for Rangers, with Celtic also interested. French outlet Tiempo says Monaco have been chasing the player for "several months".
Vaclav Cerny is another name under consideration. Rangers have been exploring a deal with Besiktas for the 28-year-old. A move for Mohamed Salah had been expected to clear a path for Cerny's exit, but that switch now appears off, with Fanatik reporting the winger is ready to "stay and fight for a place."
