The Premier League's Big Six have dominated the summer transfer window so far, with Manchester City signing Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest for £116million, Chelsea signing Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117m, Tottenham signing Sandro Tonali from Newcastle for £100m and Arsenal signing Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle for £75m. With 20 days left until the deadline on September 1, more deals are expected, and Mirror Football has identified several transfers close to completion.
Romero poised for Atletico Madrid
Cristian Romero is set to join Atletico Madrid after a £34m deal was agreed with Tottenham. The Argentina international will link up with compatriot Diego Simeone. Spurs have signed Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke this summer in preparation for the sale of their captain, who was handed the armband last summer when he signed a new four-year contract.
Hall and Rodri moves in the works
Lewis Hall wants to leave Newcastle for Manchester United, according to The Sun, despite the club's efforts to keep him after losing Tonali, Guimaraes and Anthony Gordon. United are also monitoring Club Brugge's Joaquin Seys, rated at £30m, and Jorge Salinas of Racing Santander, who could cost £14m.
Rodri is keen to leave Manchester City for Barcelona, where he has agreed personal terms. Real Madrid remain interested, but Barca are in pole position after having one bid rejected. Rodri's agent Pablo Barquero told a Spanish radio station: "Out of respect for Madrid, as they have been class, Rodri informed them that his decision is to join Barca." City are looking at replacements, including £85m-rated Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi.
Palace, Napoli, Inter and Villa targets
Monaco have rejected a club-record €50m (£42m) bid from Crystal Palace for Lamine Camara, but Palace will return for the 22-year-old midfielder. Gabriel Jesus' agent was spotted at Napoli's training ground, and Arsenal are open to selling the Brazilian for around €20m (£17m). Napoli could move for Jesus with Romelu Lukaku and Lorenzo Lucca potentially leaving.
Djed Spence has an uncertain future at Spurs, and positive talks took place with Inter Milan on Tuesday, with a package of around £30m (€35m) potentially enough. Julio Enciso is set to join Ipswich, with a fee that could surpass the club-record £24m they paid Toulouse for Emersonn. Aston Villa have made significant progress on a deal for Matteo Ruggeri worth around £21.4m (€25m) as a replacement for Lucas Digne, who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain.
