Newcastle United are weighing up a move for Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg as they look to fill the hole left by Bruno Guimaraes' looming move to Arsenal. The former Tottenham midfielder could be available for just £15million.

Marseille captain Hojbjerg, 31, has been identified as someone who could help ensure a smooth transition after losing Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali this summer, per Mail Online. The Denmark international would bring Premier League experience to help tutor young summer additions Sean Steur, 18, and Aladji Bamba, 20.
Previous interest and financial boost
The Magpies previously failed in an attempt to sign Hojbjerg from Tottenham for £30m. With their coffers boosted by £175m from their midfield sales, Newcastle bosses could strike a deal for just £15m on this occasion for the veteran with two years remaining on his contract.
Hojbjerg's recent form
The 97-times capped Denmark star joined Marseille permanently last year for £17m following an initial loan from the Lilywhites. Hojbjerg made 75 appearances and scored eight goals for the Ligue 1 side.
