Maresca Presser: Donnarumma Back for Brighton Rematch

Manchester City head coach Enzo Maresca is set to face the media this afternoon ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Brighton and Hove Albion, with Gianluigi Donnarumma confirmed to be recalled to the starting line-up.

The Italian goalkeeper was rested for Wednesday's Carabao Cup tie against the Seagulls, which City won 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw. Geronimo Rulli saved two spot-kicks to secure the win, but Maresca has already indicated Donnarumma will return for the league meeting.

Team News and Rotation

Donnarumma was one of five players given a three-day break following the loss to Aston Villa, along with Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol, Elliot Anderson and Erling Haaland. All five are expected to be back in the squad for Saturday's match at the Etihad Stadium.

City made nine changes for the midweek cup tie, with only Marc Guehi and Rayan Cherki retaining their places after being substituted at half-time against Unai Emery's side. Antoine Semenyo remains out until December, while Matheus Nunes is a doubt.

Double-Header Context

This will be the second meeting between the two sides in four days, with both matches taking place at the Etihad. Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed his side are seeking revenge for Wednesday's shootout defeat.

The Premier League fixture carries added significance after Arsenal closed the gap at the top of the table last weekend. A City victory on Saturday would increase the pressure on Mikel Arteta's side ahead of their trip to Liverpool on Sunday.

Maresca is expected to arrive for his press conference at 1.30pm UK time, where further team news and injury updates are anticipated.
