Man Utd's Bayindir set for Celta Vigo loan move

Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir is set to join Celta Vigo on a season-long loan, with the option to make the deal permanent for £3.5million included.

Bayindir started last season as United's first choice goalkeeper when Ruben Amorim axed Andre Onana from his plans, but he lost his place to Senne Lammens and was not involved for the remainder of the campaign.

Loan details and wages

The 28-year-old was pencilled in for a summer exit long before the transfer window opened. Celta Vigo will cover Bayindir's wages during his loan, and performance-related bonuses have been included in the deal.

The Spanish club will have the option of signing Bayindir for £3.5m after the conclusion of his loan stint, and United have inserted a high percentage sell-on fee for any future sale if the option is exercised.

Medical and move imminent

Bayindir has received permission to travel for his medical and will complete his loan move imminently.

United signed Bayindir from Fenerbahce for £4.3m three years ago. He arrived with 166 career appearances and 53 clean sheets to his name, becoming the club's first-ever Turkish player.

Limited appearances at United

Bayindir has made just 17 appearances for United since his arrival in Manchester, though. He started another five league games at the start of last season after making a mistake against Arsenal on the opening day, but Amorim handed Lammens his debut against Sunderland in October.

Lammens established himself as United's first-choice goalkeeper following a string of impressive performances, and Bayindir made plans to leave United in search of regular game time toward the end of the campaign.
