Manchester United take on AC Milan this afternoon in their final pre-season game of the summer, meaning Ruben Amorim will face his former club for the first time since he was sacked in January.

Amorim was relieved of his duties at United amid rising tensions with the board, but he was out of work for just a few months. Milan finished fifth last season and have appointed Amorim to oversee a rebuild.
Michael Carrick is expected to pick a strong team to face Milan given it's the final pre-season game of the summer. The Reds will begin their Premier League campaign against Hull next weekend.
Marcus Rashford, Lisandro Martinez and Kobbie Mainoo have all been included in the squad to face Milan.

Tielemans should start alongside Santos, with Fernandes ready to start his first game of pre-season. Mbeumo continues at centre-forward, with Amad on the right and Cunha on the left.
Steven Railston echoes the need to mirror the XI for the opening day, with Maguire starting alongside Yoro if fit. Mount is absent again, so Tielemans should start instead. Mbeumo is nailed on to start down the middle, and Cunha deserves a chance on the left.
Tielemans rejects Rashford accusation
Youri Tielemans has rejected historic accusations that Marcus Rashford is not a committed professional. Rashford has been welcomed back to Manchester United after spending the season on loan with Barcelona, but some fans are not pleased about his potential reintegration.
Ruben Amorim axed Rashford from his plans in December 2024, initially dropping him from the squad for the Manchester derby, which led to the forward signing on loan with Aston Villa in the winter window. Tielemans and Rashford played together during that spell at Villa Park. The Belgian midfielder signed for United for £35million this summer, and he is looking forward to the prospect of playing with Rashford again.
