Man Utd: Scalvini interest, Zirkzee set for Juventus loan

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini, while Joshua Zirkzee is close to leaving the club on loan to Juventus, according to multiple reports.

Scalvini on United's radar

United have maintained an interest in the 22-year-old Italy international, who has made 137 appearances for the Serie A side, according to The Telegraph. The defender has been previously monitored by the club and would provide reinforcement to Michael Carrick's defensive line.

The Telegraph reports that Carrick is no longer making the signing of a third midfielder his top priority. According to Transfermarkt, Scalvini carries a valuation of £32m (€38m), though his fitness history could be a concern.

Zirkzee close to exit

United have yet to bolster their attacking options this summer, aside from Marcus Rashford's return, but Carrick is considering sanctioning Joshua Zirkzee's exit, reports the Manchester Evening News. According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus are eager to land the Dutch forward on a season-long loan deal.

The 25-year-old has struggled to establish himself since his £36.5m move in 2024, scoring just nine goals in 75 appearances. The report indicates Zirkzee has already approved the move, with opportunities limited due to the presence of Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
