MAGIC EFFORT (6.25, NAP) can cast her spell at Windsor on her first start in a nursery tonight.

Back in the spring the daughter of Good Effort, a sprinter who co-trainer Ismail Mohammend also handled, made a winning debut at the Newmarket Craven Meeting. She matched that display by making most of the running before finishing fourth in a novice race at Goodwood won by recent Molecomb Stakes winner Pershaada.
Magic Effort was a big outsider for the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot but she became short of room at a key stage and had to be switched out into the middle of the course where she had no chance, finishing 14 lengths behind the winner Victorious.

Given plenty of time off, she finds herself in much calmer waters in a 5f handicap in which she wears cheekpieces for the first time. The booking of Tom Marquand suggests a bold showing is anticipated.
Earlier on the card Henry Candy returns with TOO DARN GOOD (5.20), 21 days after the gelding landed a similar prize under talented claimer Taryn Langley. A 3lb rise may not be enough to prevent the same combination leading all the way again.
At Catterick IRISH DANCER (4.15, NB) has slipped down the handicap to a mark just 1lb above the rating he last scored off over course and distance in May.
The Declan Carroll-trained six-year-old showed signs he was coming back to form when a running-on third under an inexperienced apprentice at Thirsk last time and he must go close under stable regular Zak Wheatley.
SO SASSY (5.10) can follow up last month’s course and distance win at Wolverhampton.
