The teenager then seemed to get emotional, holding his eyes shut for several seconds and appearing to wipe his eye before reflecting on his success with Sky Sports. In a touching moment, the two players, who have become close friends while sharing a growing rivalry, embraced.
Littler stormed into the final with a 10-5 victory over Michael Smith in the semi-final at London's O2 Arena. He then faced Humphries, who had defeated Michael van Gerwen by the same scoreline. The final was a rematch of the World Championship final five months prior, where Humphries had emerged victorious.
Littler took the roof off the O2 Arena with a nine-darter in the 11th leg, becoming only the second player after Phil Taylor to achieve this in a Premier League final. After the match, he grabbed the microphone and declared: 'To all the doubters, you're not doubting me any more! It's just so good to win in front of my family, my girlfriend, and my manager. I just don't know what to do!'
