Liverpool are reportedly considering a swap deal involving up to four players to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, as they prepare for the departure of Mohamed Salah this summer. The 19-year-old Ivorian has a release clause of £86 million, but the Reds hope to reduce that fee by offering players in exchange.
Diomande has impressed this season with 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions for Leipzig. Liverpool have identified him as their top target to replace Salah, with the Egyptian set to leave Anfield. The club's positive transfer history with Leipzig, including deals for Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konaté and Naby Keïta, could facilitate negotiations.
Among the players Liverpool may offer is Federico Chiesa, who has struggled since his move to Anfield, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 36 appearances last season. Academy graduate Curtis Jones, valued at £35 million, is another option, with Serie A clubs interested. Midfielder Wataru Endo, 33, and defender Joe Gomez, whose contracts expire next summer, could also be used as leverage.
Liverpool failed to retain the Premier League title but have qualified for the Champions League. Manager Arne Slot is expected to oversee a squad rebuild, with a new right winger a priority. The club have also been linked with Anthony Gordon and Bradley Barcola, but Diomande remains at the top of their wishlist.
