Liverpool Prepare £130m British Record Bid for Alexander Isak

Liverpool are preparing a fresh offer of £130 million for Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, which would set a new British transfer record. The Reds' initial bid of £110 million was rejected, but they are now returning with an improved package that could rise further with add-ons and bonuses.

Newcastle have valued Isak at £150 million and insisted he is not for sale, but the 27-year-old has made clear he wants to leave St James' Park. He has been training away from the first team and has not featured in pre-season, with his absence continuing into the opening Premier League games.

The Magpies are bracing for Isak's departure, having agreed a club-record £69.2 million deal for Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade. That move, along with failed pursuits of Jorgen Strand Larsen, Yoane Wissa, and Benjamin Sesko, suggests Newcastle are preparing for life without their star forward.

Isak has scored 62 goals in 109 appearances for Newcastle since joining from Real Sociedad in 2022. Liverpool's new bid, if accepted, would double the fee Newcastle originally paid and make Isak the most expensive British transfer, surpassing the £116 million Liverpool paid for Florian Wirtz earlier this summer.
