Frank Lampard is reportedly targeting Juventus forward Lois Openda as Coventry City prepare for their return to the Premier League. The Sky Blues secured automatic promotion by winning the Championship title under Lampard's guidance.

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Coventry have made contact with Juventus over a potential deal for the 26-year-old Belgian. The proposed move is said to be a season-long loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent the following year.

Openda joined Juventus from RB Leipzig last summer on an initial loan, which was made permanent earlier this month. However, he has struggled in Turin, scoring just two goals in 34 appearances this season, fuelling speculation of an exit.

Juventus are set to pay €40 million (£34.6 million) for Openda's permanent transfer, but reports suggest they may struggle to recoup a similar fee if they sell him this summer. Coventry are also reportedly closing in on the permanent signing of goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who impressed on loan from Brighton this season.

Lampard has dismissed speculation about his own future, reaffirming his commitment to the club. 'I'm manager of the football club. We're in a great moment of enjoying a promotion to the Premier League,' he told Sky Sports.
