Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has disclosed that he received death threats following his goal in Sunday's 1-1 draw with Arsenal. The Norwegian forward, who scored his sixth goal in five Premier League matches, shared a screenshot of a threatening message on Snapchat.
The message, from a user named 'Dara', read: 'You watch yoursel now mate. Don't dare post another Snapchat story or it will be the end of you.' Haaland captioned the post: 'Getting death threats now as well,' appearing unfazed in the accompanying selfie.
After the match, Haaland was seen interacting with fans, handing his shirt to a young supporter before leaving the stadium. He also posted an image of Arsenal fans abusing the City team bus as it departed the Emirates.
The incident adds to Haaland's history of clashes with Arsenal. Last season, he told Mikel Arteta to 'stay humble' after a match, a phrase later mocked by Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly after scoring against City.
On the pitch, Haaland opened the scoring in the first half, but Arsenal equalised in injury time through Gabriel Martinelli. City boss Pep Guardiola admitted Arsenal were the better side, saying: 'The result is fair. But in general, Arsenal were better.'
