Erling Haaland was named among the substitutes as Manchester City ended a run of four matches without a win with a 2-0 victory over bottom-placed Wolves at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola opted to rest the Norwegian striker ahead of Wednesday's Champions League meeting with Galatasaray, with Omar Marmoush and Antoine Semenyo both on target in the first half. Haaland, who has scored once in his last eight appearances, was introduced for a 17-minute cameo late on.
Phil Foden also began on the bench, while Marc Guehi made his City debut following his move from Crystal Palace. Wolves, who arrived on the back of a four-game unbeaten run, fell behind after just six minutes when Matheus Nunes crossed for Marmoush to finish.
Semenyo doubled the lead shortly before half-time, controlling Bernardo Silva's pass and finding the bottom corner. The winger has now scored three goals in four appearances since his £62.5 million transfer from Bournemouth.
Wolves improved after the interval, with Joao Gomes shooting narrowly over and Yerson Mosquera heading against the bar, but they rarely threatened an equaliser. Referee Farai Hallam, taking charge of his first top-flight match, opted against awarding a penalty following a handball claim against Mosquera, a decision that displeased Guardiola.
City also struck the woodwork through Semenyo late on as they closed out a comfortable win.
