Viktor Gyokeres has become the first player in Nations League history to score in six consecutive matches, after finding the net in Sweden's draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Arsenal striker was the competition's leading scorer during the 2024/25 campaign, netting nine goals to finish ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo (eight) and Erling Haaland (seven).
World Cup qualification lifeline
Those strikes proved vital in handing Sweden a World Cup qualification lifeline, with Gyokeres then firing his nation to the finals in the play-offs earlier in the summer.
His goals also played a big role in helping Sweden earn promotion to League B, as they topped Group C1 ahead of Slovakia, Estonia and Azerbaijan.
Six in a row
The striker has picked up where he left off, scoring in all three games in the new 2026/27 Nations League campaign against Romania, Poland and Bosnia.
Having also netted in the final three games of the 24/25 campaign, it means Gyokeres has now scored in six consecutive Nations League matches - becoming the first player in the competition's history to achieve such a feat.
Gyokeres, who had a goal in the first half on Friday evening disallowed, got his moment just after the hour mark in Zenica as he held off a challenge before lashing the ball into the roof of the net.
Potter pleased with point
While it was not enough to maintain Sweden's perfect start in League B, Group 4, Graham Potter was happy to take a point.
"I'm very happy with the team's performance, really," Potter told reporters. "I thought we were outstanding considering what we've had to go through and considering where we are and the atmosphere around the match.
"Our lead was well deserved, but we needed a second goal."
Gyokeres will hope to score for a seventh Nations League game in a row when Sweden face Romania again early next week, before returning to Arsenal where he could be set for a key role amid injuries to Kai Havertz and Christos Tzolis during the international break.
