William Gallas has claimed Cole Palmer will "definitely" join Manchester United in the future if he has one more big season at Chelsea.
The former France international, speaking to iPredicta, said a move is not imminent but believes Palmer's lifelong support for United will eventually prove decisive.
Palmer's Manchester connections
Palmer left Manchester in 2023 when he moved from City to Chelsea in a £42.5m deal, despite having spent 13 years at City. He is a lifelong United supporter, and earlier this year there were reports he was struggling with homesickness and wanted to move back from London. Chelsea denied the reports.
Speculation has resurfaced after a miserable finish to the season that saw Chelsea fail to qualify for any European competition.
Gallas sees one condition for transfer
Gallas suggested the timing is not yet right for Palmer to leave Stamford Bridge.
"I don't think Cole Palmer will go right now. I don't think it's time to go right now," Gallas told iPredicta.
"He will definitely go to Manchester United in the future if he's a big fan, if he's got a dream to play for Man United, he will definitely go there, but right now I don't think so."
"I think he needs to have one more big season as he did two years ago, before he got his injury problem, then he might move."
Palmer messages new United signing
Gallas's comments follow United's signing of Andrey Santos from Chelsea. The Brazilian has signed a five-year deal, with United paying an initial £48m plus £2m in add-ons.
Santos, who wanted more consistent first-team football, revealed Palmer had sent him a message after the move was completed.
"I'm so excited to be here. So pleased. I got a message from Cole [Palmer], he sent a message because he was born here [Manchester], so he knows everything here," Santos said.
"He said all the best for you, for your career, you deserve this, a lot of things. So I'm so excited to be here in Manchester with my new teammates."
