Five members of England's victorious Euro 2025 squad have been nominated for the women's Ballon d'Or, following their triumph in Basel last month. The nominees include Leah Williamson, Alessia Russo, Chloe Kelly, Lucy Bronze, and Hannah Hampton, all of whom played key roles in England's European Championship victory.
Williamson, Russo, and Kelly, all of Arsenal, also won the Champions League this summer, completing a club and country double. Bronze and Hampton, who both won domestic trebles with Chelsea, were also recognised for their contributions to England's success.
In the men's category, four English players have been nominated: Jude Bellingham, Harry Kane, Cole Palmer, and Declan Rice. Scotland's Scott McTominay also made the list after his impressive performances for Napoli in Serie A.
Sarina Wiegman, England's head coach, has been nominated for the women's Johan Cruyff Trophy, alongside Arsenal's Renée Slegers and Chelsea's Sonia Bompastor. England striker Michelle Agyemang, 19, is nominated for the Kopa Trophy for young players, while Hampton is also in contention for the Yashin Trophy for goalkeepers.
Arsenal dominate the women's Ballon d'Or list with seven players, including Spain's Mariona Caldentey and Australia's Steph Catley. Chelsea have two further nominees in Sandy Baltimore and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd. Last year's winner, Aitana Bonmatí of Spain, is also on the list.
